While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

'Hamas: We reached a framework agreement with Witkoff for a permanent ceasefire

Wednesday 28-May-2025

DOHA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, 'Hamas, confirmed on Wednesday evening that it is making significant efforts to end the brutal war on the Gaza Strip, the latest of which is reaching a framework agreement with US envoy Steve Witkoff.

In a statement, 'Hamas clarified that the agreement with Witkoff outlines a general framework for a permanent ceasefire, a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid, and the establishment of a professional committee to manage the affairs of the Strip once the agreement is announced.

The agreement also includes the release of ten Israeli captives and several bodies, in exchange for the release of an agreed-upon number of Palestinian prisoners, under the guarantee of mediators. The Movement is now awaiting a final response to this framework.

UN: US-Israeli way of distributing aid in Gaza “heartbreaking” and “sadistic”

Wednesday 28-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The video footage showing thousands of desperate Palestinians in Gaza rushing for aid is “heartbreaking,” a UN spokesman said in a statement on Tuesday evening.

“We have been watching the video coming out of Gaza around one of the distribution points set up by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), and frankly, these video images are heartbreaking, to say the least,” Stephane Dujarric, chief spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, said.

The GHF is a US operation endorsed by Israel and designed to replace the UN-run humanitarian effort to deliver aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Dujarric added that no fuel is currently available in southern Gaza and only one-third of the required supply was received last week.

Dujarric called for the “opening of all crossing points for humanitarian aid and commercial goods,” adding that the UN and its humanitarian partners “stand ready to deliver at scale.”

“International law must be respected and humanitarian operations must be enabled without any further delay,” Dujarric added.

For his part, UN special rapporteur on the right to housing Balakrishnan Rajagopal described the way aid was distributed as “sadistic” in a statement on his social media account.

“This is a crime committed by the US and Israel,” Rajagopal said, adding that the distribution was used to humiliate and torture civilians.

UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini also condemned Israel’s model for providing aid to Gaza as wasteful and a “distraction from atrocities,” criticizing a chaotic distribution by a US-backed foundation this week.

“We have seen yesterday the shocking images of hungry people pushing against fences, desperate for food. It was chaotic, undignified and unsafe,” Lazzarini told reporters at the Japan National Press Club in Tokyo on Wednesday.

“I believe it is a waste of resources and a distraction from atrocities,” Lazzarini continued. “We already have an aid distribution system that is fit for purpose.”

Dozens of Palestinian civilians were injured by Israeli gunfire during the aid distribution operation that was carried out on Tuesday by the US-backed GHF in the Gaza Strip, a UN official said on Wednesday.

Ajith Sunghay, head of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in the occupied Palestinian territory, told reporters in Geneva that chaos broke out as the GHF was distributing aid.

“From the information we have, there are about 47 people who have been injured … most of those injured are due to gunshots,” Sunghay said, affirming that the shooting was carried out by Israeli forces.

'Hamas: The new aid distribution mechanism in Gaza is only entrapment

Wednesday 28-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement has said that the new aid distribution mechanism used by the US in the Gaza Strip is nothing but entrapment that endangers the lives of civilians and aims to impose security control over the Gaza Strip under the guise of providing aid.

“This plan was specifically designed to sideline the role of the United Nations and its agencies. Its purpose is to advance the occupation’s political and military goals by controlling individuals rather than providing them with genuine assistance,” Hamas said in a statement on Tuesday.

“The scenes of thousands of our people rushing into the center that was set up to carry out the occupation’s aid distribution mechanism, in the midst of live ammunition being fired by the occupation army at the citizens who gathered at the distribution point under the strain of hunger and blockade, clearly confirm the failure of this suspicious mechanism,” Hamas added.

Hamas described the so-called safe distribution points in Gaza as “traps” designed to humiliate and extort civilians.

The Movement called on the international community, the UN and the Arab, and Islamic countries to take urgent action to pressure for the opening of crossings and enable the UN and its institutions to deliver aid in Gaza.

600 days of genocide: Catastrophic health indicators grip Gaza’s medical sector

GAZA, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) -

Medical sources report that, 600 days into the ongoing genocide perpetrated by Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, catastrophic indicators continue to ravage the enclave’s health system and humanitarian conditions.

According to the sources, 22 out of 38 hospitals are now out of service. Furthermore, 47% of essential medicines are completely out of stock, while 65% of essential medical consumables are also unavailable.

Only 30 out of 105 primary healthcare centers remain operational, while bed occupancy rates have exceeded 106%. Out of 104 operating rooms, only 50 are functioning under dire and catastrophic conditions.

The sources revealed that 41% of kidney failure patients have died during the ongoing Israeli aggression. Additionally, 477 patients who were awaiting medical treatment abroad have died, and 60 children have lost their lives due to starvation.

Israeli forces have also destroyed 25 of Gaza’s 34 oxygen stations, leaving only 9 stations partially operational.

The destruction extends to diagnostic infrastructure: 12 of 19 CT scanners have been destroyed, and all 7 MRI machines have been completely demolished, rendering Gaza devoid of diagnostic MRI capabilities. There is also a severe shortage of other essential medical imaging equipment.

Currently, only 49 of the 110 electric generators across Gaza’s hospitals remain functional. The generators are in urgent need of maintenance and fuel supplies to ensure continued operation.

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime to revoke the citizenship of and deport 4 Palestinian citizens

TEL AVIV, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime initiated on Wednesday the procedures to revoke the citizenship of and deport four Palestinian citizens of the 1948 Territories, currently held in Israeli prisons.

They have embarked on this process since the four citizens allegedly received financial stipends from the Palestinian National Authority during their incarceration.

Israeli ‘Defense’ Minister Yisrael Katz was quoted by Israeli media stating that four cases were in advanced stages of deportation under a law permitting the revocation of Israeli citizenship from individuals convicted of receiving funds from the Palestinian Authority.

Neither did he disclose the names of the detainees facing citizenship revocation and deportation, nor indicate their potential destination should the decision be finalized.

On February 15, 2023, the Knesset, with a 95-member majority, approved an amendment to the Citizenship Law that empowers the Minister of Interior Affairs to petition the Supreme Court for the revocation of citizenship from Palestinian citizens of the 1948 Territories or the permanent residency status from Palestinian citizens of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) if they are found to have received payments from the Palestinian Authority.

PGMO: Israel commits atrocity at aid distribution center for second consecutive day

Wednesday 28-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Government Media Office (PGMO) in Gaza stated that the Israeli occupation committed a horrific crime against civilians at what are referred to as “aid distribution centers” in Rafa'h over the past two days, resulting in the killing of 10 civilians and injuring more than 62 others.

In an official statement issued on Wednesday, the PGMO said the Israeli occupation forces opened fire at peaceful gatherings of citizens driven by dire need and extreme hunger to seek aid at those sites.

The statement stressed that this crime—repeated for a second consecutive day—reflects an unprecedented moral and humanitarian collapse on the part of the occupation and its racist leadership. It held the Israeli occupation fully legally responsible for the massacre.

The PGMO also held the so-called American organization known as “GHF” ethically and legally accountable for its direct involvement in facilitating and covering up the crime, calling on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to fulfill their urgent responsibilities.

The PGMO expressed its categorical rejection of any aid distribution initiatives that pass through the occupation or its affiliated agencies.

Finally, it urged the free world, along with Arab and Islamic nations, to take immediate action to break the siege, reject all forms of complicity with the occupation, and establish independent and secure humanitarian corridors that preserve human dignity and prevent further massacres.

Wednesday 28-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation army continued last night and on Wednesday to carry out deadly attacks on different areas of the Gaza Strip, killing and injuring dozens of civilians.

According to local media sources, Israeli forces also continued today to detonate more homes and displace families in the Gaza Strip, further deepening the dire humanitarian crisis as the population grapples with worsening famine.

Israeli occupation army kills three Gazans, injures dozens during US-sponsored food distribution

Wednesday 28-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Government Media Office (PGMO) in Gaza said on Tuesday that the Israeli occupation army killed three desperate Palestinian civilians and wounded 46 others at the American food distribution site in Rafa'h, while many civilians in the area were reported missing.

According to Al Jazeera satellite channel, US security contractors – working for an Israeli-US-backed foundation – lost control at the site shortly after it opened.

Palestinian Center for the Missing and Forcibly Disappeared said that several citizens disappeared on Tuesday afternoon after they went to one of the US aid distribution points in Rafa'h, south of Gaza.

“A number of civilians went there but have not returned to their homes, and there is still no confirmed information about their fate, the center said on Tuesday a few hours after the incident happened.

The center held the Israeli army fully responsible for the disappearance of those citizens, calling for immediately giving information about their fate and working on ensuring a safe and fair process for the distribution of humanitarian aid.

The center warned that such incidents may happen again in the midst of security chaos and the absence of protection guarantees for civilians.

Israeli forces kill 6 Palestinians, injure 15 others during Rafa'h aid distribution

GAZA, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday opened fire at a crowd of starving Palestinians who gathered at an aid distribution hub to the north of Rafa'h in the southern Gaza Strip, killing six and injuring 15 others, according to WAFA correspondent.

He reported that the occupation forces opened fire and fired missiles at a crowd of civilians waiting for small parcels of food at an aid distribution point, claiming the lives of six and injuring 15 others.

Israel unilaterally ended the Gaza ceasefire agreement and resumed its aggression on the Strip on Tuesday, March 18, carrying out a wave of bloody airstrikes across the Strip and killing hundreds of Palestinians.

The death toll reached at least 3,924 with 11,267 others wounded, according to medical sources. In the last 24 hours, the bodies of 28 slain Palestinians, including five bodies retrieved from the rubble, and 179 casualties were admitted to Gaza hospitals, noting that these numbers excludes hospitals in the northern Strip.

The aggression was resumed amidst concerns over the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Strip given the ongoing siege and ban on the entry of medical and humanitarian aid.

Israel has waged a military onslaught on the Strip since October 2023, killing 54,084 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 123,308 others.

Statistics issued by medical sources show that since October 2023, Israel has killed 16,854 children and 20,594 young men, accounting for 31.5% and 38% respectively of the total death toll.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

IOFs kill an elderly woman, injures others as Rafa'h aid center becomes latest scene of genocide

Wednesday 28-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

An elderly Palestinian woman was martyred and several others were injured on Wednesday when Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) opened fire on civilians gathered near an aid distribution site in Rafa'h, southern Gaza.

Local sources identified the victim as 65-year-old Kifa'h Oada Sulayman Al-Sawarka, who was fatally shot near the Miraj area south of Khan Younus. Witnesses said IOFs soldiers fired at a crowd waiting in desperation for humanitarian aid.

Dozens of civilians had assembled on Al-'Alam Street, where aid had been distributed the previous day. According to eyewitnesses and journalists at the scene, Israeli helicopters hovered overhead before opening fire and ordering people to vacate the area. The incident led to the cancellation of the day’s aid distribution.

This follows a deadly attack on Tuesday, when IOFs targeted another aid center in Rafa'h, killing three civilians, injuring 46, and leaving seven others missing. These centers are located within so-called “buffer zones” established by the Israeli occupation military.

The Palestinian Government Media Office (PGMO) described the attack as a deliberate massacre of civilians who had been lured to the area by promises of food distribution. “This was a war crime committed in cold blood against hungry, besieged civilians,” the Office stated, adding that the residents of Gaza have endured more than 90 consecutive days of starvation since the complete closure of border crossings, and nearly 20 months of an escalating genocide.

The Office condemned the Israeli policy of using aid distribution as a tool for forced displacement and population control. “The creation of so-called buffer zones and forced assembly sites amid a backdrop of hunger and death is not humanitarian aid—it is a form of collective punishment,” the PGMO stated.

It further emphasized that the situation on the ground reveals the failure of the Israeli aid distribution model. International experts, Hebrew media outlets, and human rights observers have noted the chaos and violence erupting in these areas as hungry civilians, driven by desperation, are met with live ammunition instead of relief.

“The occupation bears full responsibility for the humanitarian catastrophe it has orchestrated through siege, starvation, bombing, and destruction,” the statement added. Citing Article 2 of the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the PGMO reaffirmed its stance that the events in Rafa'h constitute part of the ongoing act of genocide.

It stressed that the establishment of “buffer zones” and forced assembly lines amid the threat of death and starvation does not reflect genuine humanitarian intentions, but rather embodies a racist political strategy aimed at dismantling Palestinian society, perpetuating its suffering, and providing a false humanitarian cover for the Israeli security and military agendas.

WEST BANK, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) kidnapped a number of Palestinian citizens in the West Bank last night and on Wednesday morning, amid Jewish settler attacks in some areas.

According to local sources, the IOFs kidnapped two citizens during raids in Bait La'hm (Bethlehem) City and Teqoa town.

The IOFs also kidnapped three citizens, including two children, during their raids on Al-Mazra’a Al-Gharbiya village, northwest of Ramallah.

In Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), a unit of the Israeli occupation apartheid regime police officers savagely assaulted a young man outside his home in Shu'fat refugee camp in front of his wife and children.

In Toulkaram, Israeli occupation forces kidnapped a citizen during a raid on 'Anabta town. He was identified as 38-year-old 'Hazim Qar’awi, who had been displaced with his family from Nour Shams refugee camp, during the mass IOFs displacement and destruction campaign that started in recent months in the West Bank.

Meanwhile, a horde of the illegal Israeli settlers infiltrated into Ramon village in eastern Ramallah at dawn, set several cars ablaze, and spray-painted racist graffiti on the walls of some homes.

Yesterday, another gang of the illegal Israeli settlers attacked homes and burned and damaged seven cars in Qaryout village in southern Nablus.

Swaths of land planted with crops were also burned in a settler arson attack in Al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, on Tuesday.

Israeli occupation forces besiege house near Nablus, abduct Palestinian

NABLUS, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday evening besieged a house and abducted a Palestinian from the Bait Iba town, west of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources.

They said that Israeli special forces sneaked their way into the town, and together with uniformed occupation forces, they surrounded a house in the town, and opened live ammunition toward it.

The forces eventually abducted a young Palestinian man.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted without the need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.

IOFs displace 4,200 families from Toulkarm

Wednesday 28-May-2025

WEST BANK, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) continued their military assault on the city of Toulkarm and its refugee camp for the 122nd consecutive day, and on the Nour Shams refugee camp for the 109th day, amid ongoing military escalation, raids, and forced displacement.

In the northern town of Zaita near Toulkarm, the IOFs carried out a wide-scale raid, deploying reinforcements and setting up sudden checkpoints at the town’s main entrances, internal roads, and in the plains area. The troops prevented residents from moving freely, detained several individuals, and seized a number of homes, turning them into military outposts.

On Wednesday, the IOFs assaulted Fo-ad Al-'Ali, severely beating him after storming his home in the western neighborhood of the city and wreaking havoc on its contents.

A tight and suffocating siege remains in place on both Toulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps, accompanied by constant military reinforcements. Displaced families continued to call for urgent solutions to their prolonged suffering, which is nearing five months.

In recent weeks, the IOFs launched a campaign to demolish residential buildings in the main neighborhoods of Nour Shams refugee camp, affecting more than 20 buildings and their apartments, with damage also extending to nearby structures. This is part of a broader Israeli plan to demolish 106 buildings in both Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps to open new roads and alter the camps’ geographical features.

Two days ago, the IOFs gave residents of Al-'Ukasha and Al-Balawna neighborhoods in Tulkarem camp just three hours to evacuate their belongings from their homes before being forcibly expelled in preparation for demolition.

Since the beginning of the assault on Toulkarm, more than 4,200 families—comprising over 25,000 residents—have been forcibly displaced from the two camps. Occupation machinery has completely destroyed more than 400 homes, and partially damaged 2,573 others. Entrances and alleyways of both camps have been sealed off with earth mounds, turning them into isolated zones.

The ongoing assault on Toulkarm city and its two refugee camps has resulted in the killing of 13 Palestinians, including a child and two women—one of whom was eight months pregnant—along with dozens of injuries and arrests. Widespread destruction has also been inflicted on infrastructure, homes, shops, and vehicles, many of which have been burned, looted, vandalized, or completely demolished.

Israeli occupation apartheid regime forces demolish home in Bait 'Haneena, displacing family of five

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), May 28, 2025 (WAFA) -

Israeli occupation forces today demolished a Palestinian home in the town of Bait 'Haneena, north of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), forcibly displacing a family of five.

The homeowner, Nour Tawta'h, stated that he had constructed the 80-square-meter house on his privately owned land five years ago, where he resided with his wife and children. He expressed shock at the sudden arrival of Israeli forces who demolished the property without prior warning, despite the absence of any formal demolition order.

Tawta'h explained that he had previously received a notice concerning unlicensed construction and had already initiated legal procedures to rectify the building’s status. Nevertheless, Israeli forces unexpectedly appeared in the early morning and proceeded with the demolition without issuing any advance notice.

IOFs demolish home, water well in Al-Khalil (Hebron), structure in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem)

Wednesday 28-May-2025

Al-Khalil (Hebron), (PIC)

Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) on Wednesday demolished a family home, surrounding walls, and a water well in the village of Al-Rifa’iyya, east of Yatta in the southern Al-Khalil (Hebron) region, and tore down a structure in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).

According to local sources, IOFs units stormed the Irfa’iya accompanied by demolition vehicles and proceeded to destroy a 250-square-meter home owned by Jihad Shihada al-Amor. The house, which sheltered a family of five, was reduced to rubble along with its perimeter walls and an adjacent water well.

Mu'hammed Al-Adthra, director of the Khallet Al-May municipality, said the demolition came less than 24 hours after the homeowner received a notice from Israeli occupation authorities. The rapid execution left no time for Al-'Umoor to file an objection through the occupation’s court system or seek assistance from legal or human rights organizations.

“This is part of a broader escalation of repressive measures carried out by the Israeli occupation,” Al-Adthra said. “These demolitions are clearly intended to pressure residents, dismantle communities, and make way for further colonization of Palestinian land.”

He added that such operations are not isolated incidents but part of a systematic campaign affecting all villages and communities across Masafir Yatta and its eastern areas. Many of these zones are currently targeted for annexation, displacing Palestinian families to expand Israeli settlement activity, an action widely condemned under international law.

In Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) neighborhood of Silwan, Israeli police forces also demolished a structure in the 'Ain Al-Loaza area. The structure belonged to Palestinian resident Is'haq Oada, who, according to witnesses, was not given due process or compensation.

In a related development, Israeli occupation police forces stormed the Al-Sala neighborhood in Jabal Al-Mukabbir, southeast of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), accompanied by bulldozers, signaling preparation for additional demolitions.

Later in the day, the occupation police forces erected a military checkpoint at the entrance of the town of Al-'Eisawiya, northeast of the Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) governorate. The Israeli occupaiton soldiers stopped vehicles and checked the IDs of Palestinian residents, further disrupting daily life in the area.

According to statistics compiled by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the month of April alone saw 73 separate demolition operations by the Israeli occupation, targeting 152 Palestinian structures across the West Bank and Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem). These included 96 inhabited homes, 10 uninhabited dwellings, and 34 agricultural structures.

The data show that the demolitions were most concentrated in Toubas, where 59 structures were destroyed, followed by Al-Khalil (Hebron) with 39 and Jerusalem with 17. Rights groups have consistently warned that these actions amount to collective punishment and are part of a systematic policy of forced displacement and land appropriation.

Illegal Israeli settlers torch large tract of land near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) –

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers on Wednesday evening torched a large tract of land belonging to the villagers of Al-Mughayyir, east of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to local sources.

They said that colonists set fire to a large tract of wheat-cultivated land in the Al-Rafeed Plain in the village after the villagers successfully extinguished an earlier arson fire by Israeli colonists.

The settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

The settler violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.

UNICEF sounds alarm as child casualties in Gaza surpass 50,000

GAZA, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) –

More than 50,000 Palestinian children have been killed or wounded in the Gaza Strip since the start of the Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, according to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

In a statement published Wednesday, Edward Beigbeder, UNICEF’s Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, described the war’s toll on children as catastrophic.

He referenced footage from a strike on Friday in Khan Younis, where the charred and dismembered bodies of children from the Al-Najjar family were pulled from the rubble of their home. Of ten siblings under the age of 12, only one reportedly survived—with severe injuries.

In a separate attack early Monday morning, a strike hit a school sheltering civilians in Gaza City, killing at least 31 people, including 18 children, according to reports.

Since the breaking of a temporary ceasefire on March 18, 1,309 children have been killed and 3,738 injured, UNICEF reported. The total number of child casualties since the war began now exceeds 50,000.

UN: Gaza “the hungriest place on earth”

NEW YORK, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) –

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) described on Wednesday the Gaza Strip as “the hungriest place on earth,” stressing that the UN “can get the aid in immediately.”

“Right now, nearly 180,000 pallets of food and other life-saving aid stand ready to enter Gaza, the hungriest place on earth,” Jens Laerke, OCHA spokesperson, told UN News.

He added that the supplies have already been paid for by the world's donors, pointing out that “it is cleared for customs, approved and ready to move.”

“We can get the aid in – immediately, at scale and for as long as necessary,” he said, noting that time is running out very quickly, and lives are being lost every hour in the Gaza Strip.

He affirmed that the UN has a successful plan, as was evident during the ceasefire when tens of thousands of trucks entered the Strip and delivered aid to every person.

By deliberately starving the population, paving the way for forced displacement, according to the United Nations, Israel has pushed 2.4 million Palestinians to the brink of famine by closing the Gaza Strip's crossings to humanitarian aid, particularly food, since March 2.

UNRWA: Only 6 of 22 health centers remain operational in Gaza

Wednesday 28-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

Only six out of 22 health centers run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) are still operating in the Gaza Strip amid ongoing Israeli bombardment, the agency said Tuesday.

In a statement posted on X, UNRWA reported that the remaining facilities are functioning both inside and outside displacement shelters, warning of a severe shortage of basic medical supplies and calling for the urgent and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid.

The announcement comes amid a deepening humanitarian crisis caused by the continued siege and bombardment of Gaza by Israeli occupation forces (IOF). Over the past two weeks, UNRWA and independent investigations have documented dozens of attacks on Gaza’s already devastated health infrastructure.

According to a recent investigation by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, IOFs carried out 36 separate assaults targeting medical infrastructure during the current escalation. Ten hospitals and medical clinics were struck by IOF last week alone, rendering them either partially or completely out of service.

The World Health Organization echoed those findings, stating that Gaza’s health system is now on the verge of total collapse. The organization reported that approximately 94% of hospitals in the Strip have been severely damaged or destroyed, leaving only a handful struggling to serve more than two million residents.

Since March 2, Israeli authorities have maintained a near-total closure of border crossings, preventing the entry of food, water, fuel and medicine. Humanitarian groups say this blockade has exacerbated conditions resembling famine across the besieged enclave.

The ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza, backed by US political and military support, has resulted in the deaths and injuries of more than 177,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, according to the Gaza Government Media Office. More than 11,000 people remain missing under the rubble, and hundreds of thousands have been displaced since the onset of the Israeli genocidal war on October 7, 2023.

Human rights groups and international legal experts warn that the systematic destruction of Gaza’s health infrastructure and the deliberate starvation of its civilian population may constitute war crimes and crimes of genocide under international law.

France condemns any Israeli attempt to annex West Bank or Gaza Strip

PARIS, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) –

French Foreign Ministry spokesman Christophe Lemoine said today that his country strongly condemns any Israeli attempt to annex the occupied West Bank or the Gaza Strip.

This came at a press conference in Paris, in response to a question about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statement that he would occupy the West Bank if France recognized the State of Palestine.

Lemoine said that France's position on the Palestinian territories is well-known, whether it concerns the West Bank or the Gaza Strip, noting that France has always condemned all forms of colonization and annexation attempts.

He emphasized that Paris strongly opposes and condemns any attempt to annex the West Bank or Gaza.

Regarding the crowds of hungry Palestinians flocking to an aid distribution center in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, Lemoine said that these scenes demonstrate that humanitarian aid in the region is insufficient.

He affirmed that these scenes also reflect the direness of the situation in the region, noting that Palestinians in Gaza are deprived of everything.

The French official stressed the need to allow free and large quantities of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, which is besieged by Israel.

Spain, Ireland, Slovenia and Norway call for full UN membership of Palestine

MADRID, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Governments of Spain, Ireland, Slovenia and Norway called today for a full UN membership for the State of Palestine.

In a joint statement, they stressed that recognition of Palestine is another step for the implementation of the two-state solution.

They also reaffirmed commitment to the two-state solution, one year after their official recognition of Palestine.

“In the framework of the Madrid+ Group of the meeting, we have met to renew and reinforce the international commitment for the implementation of the two-state solution and to the principle that only a viable, contiguous Palestinian State, with internationally recognized borders, comprised of Gaza and the West Bank and with East Jerusalem as its capital, can fully satisfy the legitimate national aspirations and the needs of peace and security of both the people of Palestine and Israel,” the statement read.

“We believe that this High-Level Conference, to be held on 17 June 2025 under UN auspices and co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, represents not only the occasion with the highest degree of international legitimacy, but also the appropriate framework in which to finally advance the implementation of the two-state solution,” according to the statement.

“We remind that recognition is another step for the implementation of the two-state solution, and we call on all members of the international community to take the necessary steps to make it reality, including individual recognition of Palestine and Israel by those who have not yet done so, UN membership of Palestine and support of an agreement between the parties, with eventual mutual recognition between Palestine and Israel,” the countries affirmed.

They stressed that the international community has the obligation to change the ongoing dynamics on the ground that have created an endless cycle of violence and devastation.

Chile withdraws military attachés from Israel

SANTIAGO, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Chilean government announced on Wednesday the withdrawal of its attachés from Israel, according to the Latin American News Agency (Prensa Latina).

The Agency reported that the Chilean government announced the withdrawal of its military, defense, and air attachés from Tel Aviv over the ongoing Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which has killed 54,084 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 123,308 others.

Quoting a press statement posted on the Chilean Foreign Ministry’s website, Presna Latina further reported that the decision, coordinated by the Chilean Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, was due to the extremely serious situation experienced by the population in the Gaza Strip, a result of the disproportionate and indiscriminate aggression by the Israeli occupation army.

The statement condemned the constant obstacles imposed by the occupation forces to allowing the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip.

The Chilean government demands that Israel cease its military operations in the occupied Palestinian territory, allow the unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid, and respect international law and international humanitarian law.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
